Our Diagnostic Services

With our in-house laboratory, we are pleased to offer advanced diagnostics to allow our veterinarians to provide an accurate diagnosis of your pet's medical issues.

  • Radiography (Digital X-Rays)

Using a radiograph (digital x-ray), we can examine your pet's internal systems to reveal information that may be invisible from the outside.

Radiography is painless, safe and non-invasive. It uses a very small amount of radiation to create its images. So, even very young or pregnant pets can undergo this procedure.

At St. Francis Veterinary Hospital we also use radiography in our dental services. We capture detailed imaged if your pet's teeth and jaw, just like at your dentist's office to find out more about their oral health.

  • Ultrasound

Ultrasound imaging involves exposing parts of your pet's body to hi-frequency sound waves in order to produce an image of the inside of their body.

Since we capture these ultrasound images in real time, we are able to see and assess your pet's internal organs as they function as well as track their blood flow through their vessels.

  • ECG

At our hospital, we use advanced heart monitoring equipment, also known as EKG, in order to conduct diagnostic tests and monitor your pet's heart during surgical procedures. This technology allows us to measure the electrical activity of your pet's heart in real time.

We are able to detect any abnormalities in your pet's heart, including previous heart attacks, abnormal rhythms or heart disease. Our advanced equipment also allows us to make your pet as comfortable as possible during the process.

  • Blood Testing

We are able to conduct blood testing in our in-house lab in order to produce important diagnostic information about your pet's hydration, detect inflammation and heart diseases and inform us about your pet's blood sugar levels as well as kidney and  liver function.

With this information, we can make diagnoses based on the levels of certain cells in your pet's blood alongside a number different factors, painting a picture of your companion's internal functions which aren't otherwise detectable.

New patients are always welcome.

We look forward to meeting your beloved pet at St. Francis Veterinary Hospital.
